I Am Freemasonry
The following paragraphs were written in 1931 by a Master Mason. This text contains one of the best self-descriptions regarding Freemasonry ever written. It provides valuable insight into the innermost motivation of all members of Freemasonry. This literary work is titled I Am Freemasonry.

"I was born in antiquity, in the ancient days when men first dreamed of God. I have been tried through the ages and found true. The crossroads of the world bear the imprint of my feet, and the cathedrals of all nations mark the skill of my hands. I strive for beauty and for symmetry.

In my heart is wisdom and strength and courage of those who ask. Upon my altars is the Book of the Holy Writ, and my prayers are to the One Omnipotent God. My sons work and pray together, without rank or discord, in the public mart and in the inner chamber. By signs and symbols I teach the lessons of life and death, and the relationship of Man with God and Man with Man.

My arms are widespread to receive those of lawful age and good report who seek me of their own free will. I will accept them and teach them to use my tools in the building of men, and thereby find direction in their own quest for perfection so much desired and so difficult to obtain.

I lift up the fallen and shelter the sick. I hark to the orphan’s cry, and widow’s tears, the pain of the old and destitute. I am not church, nor party, nor school, yet my sons bear a full share of responsibility to God, to country, to neighbor and themselves. They are freemen, tenacious of their liberties and alert to lurking danger.

At the end I commit them as each one undertakes the journey beyond the vale into the glory of everlasting life. I ponder the sand within the glass and think how small is a single life in the eternal Universe. Always have I taught immortality, and even as I raise men from darkness into light. I am a way of life."

Free Masons in History

The men who ascribe to this philosophy and principles of Freemasonry devised their own secret Masonic message. The message was presented in such a fashion that it could be discovered at some time in history. Most of the people in America, excluding the very young, are either carrying, or have carried, or will carry, a secret Masonic message. Many people have this message in their possession at this present time. Although this message is specifically for Americans, other people around the world carry the same message.

The message is visual and symbolic in nature. It portrays the Masonic influence from man’s earliest beginnings of civilization. The message then makes a definitive Masonic statement followed by a visual representation of the Masonic crowning historical achievement. I am unsure why this message was created. However, the message and how it is presented is a clear representation of Masonic subtlety. How this message is presented reminds me of the Lords’ presentation of symbolic immortality. As a reminder, they used the butterfly in their wall painting in the Minoan and Maya civilizations to indicate extended life spans. These symbolic messages are normally seen but rarely understood by the civilizations they are presented to.

A present day Masonic message can be found on all US paper currency.  To view the beginning of the message, begin on the reverse side of a United States one-dollar bill. On the left side of the bill is a symbol known as The Great Seal.  The structure inside the circle of the seal is a ziggurat from the Sumerian civilization. The ziggurat, as you may remember, is the first platform watchtower structure built at the beginning of the Earth’s first known civilization. The triangle above the structure is in Masonic terms, a Be-jewel.   The Be-jewel is the Eye of God. The eye represents that God is always watching. From ancient times the meaning is, Beware God Watches.

If you place the Be-jewel directly on top of the ziggurat you now have the mathematically perfect structure of the Masonic pyramid.   On the right side of the dollar bill you will see the seal of the United States.   In the middle of the two seals is the sentence, In God We Trust.  This sentence is the binding tie between the two seals.   The sentence is also the binding tie between all Masonic history that lies between the creations of two great civilizations.  The symbolic message is: From the creation of the first great civilization to the creation of the last great civilization, we have trusted in God.

On the face of the one dollar bill is the portrait of George Washington. He is very well known as a founder of America. He is also known as the father of the country. But outside of Masonic circles, he is rarely known as a Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge.   From the one-dollar bill, the Masonic history continues in a series of historical levels. The two-dollar bill begins the historical message of the foundation of America itself. The portrait on the face of the bill is of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States and a Master Mason. The portrait on the reverse side of the bill depicts the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The men who signed the declaration are historically known to be ninety-eight percent Master Masons. The other two percent are suspected to be members of the Masonic Lodge.

If you lay out a series of US currency notes, starting with a one-dollar bill, and advance to a one hundred dollar bill, each portrait on the face of the currency will contain the face of a Master Mason. Turn all the bills over and look at the reverse side. You will see Masonic history unfold, from its origin, to the creation of the United States of America. The building structures on the reverse sides of the currency are the symbolic representation of the various levels of an emerging civilization. The last bill, a hundred dollar note, returns you to Independence Hall, the completion of a historic cycle.

This message is being obliterated as this work is being completed. Our new leaders are redesigning the currency to remove this timeless message. So be it.

The following is not an attempt to recount American history so it will be as short as possible. The early political and military leadership of the United States reads like a complete Lodge membership roster. From the time of George Washington until present day, fourteen presidents are historically verified as Master Masons. Two other presidents Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson are believed to have been Master Masons. The Masonic presidents are, George Washington, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, James Garfield, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Will Howard Taft, Warren Harding, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, and Gerald Ford.

A review of Masonic involvement in the foundation of the country shows the first two important documents of the emerging civilization were produced by Master Masons; The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. In the formation of the army, Washington chose thirty-three Master Masons as general officers. Most people, including many Masons, have failed to recognize Washington’s subtleness in the selection of this specific number of general officers. The secret to Washington’s numerical selection has remained hidden in the history of the United States. The number thirty-three is the highest honorary degree held in the Masonic community. Sly old George.   All the key participants in early American history were Master Masons. To name but a few of hundreds, Paul Revere, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, John Paul Jones, and Alexander Hamilton.

Two important creations of the Masonic political force were the Supreme Court and the United States Military Academies at West Point and Annapolis. Both Academies provided a constant stream of Masonic officers into the military forces.  As history continued, Master Masons, also known as Freemasons, conceived, negotiated, and approved the Louisiana Purchase. In May 1804, the famous Lewis and Clark expedition, charted to find a northwest passage across the continent, began from St. Louis. The historic journey was led by Master Masons, Meriwether Lewis, and William Clark, and completed in September 1806. Zebulon M. Pike mapped and found the source of the Mississippi River in 1805, and mapped the Southwest in 1806. Pikes Peak in Colorado was named for this Master Mason.

For those who are interested in American history, if you cross index the names of famous persons with Masonic historical records, you will find that Master Masons dominated history. The Masonic domination produced some rather interesting historic phases. From the initial foundation of American civilization, to leading the population through successive cultural phases. Each successive phase stressed the importance of independence and freedom for the individual person.
